Hello world!
Over the last 8 months, we’ve been working on two big projects here at NarraticLabs, and it’s time for them to be revealed!
Our first, Games & Interactive Storytelling Summer Bootcamp
We’ll be releasing a series of week-long online bootcamps to introduce people to the ideas and techniques behind Games & Interactive Storytelling. The bootcamp is built for young creatives and passionate gamers alike. In the course, we’ll be looking at some concepts, but the emphasis is on learning through play, and I’ve selected three core games that will be part of the curriculum: Broken Age, Sunless Sea and Another Lost Phone. Each student will be provided Steam keys for all three games to access and play, and we’ll be talking about them throughout the course. In addition to learning through play, students will also attend lectures and participate in thoughtful class discussions with their peers – reflecting on each core learning objective of the course. We’re very proud to share that these summer courses will run three times this summer – dates to be announced soon. Students will also receive a certificate following successful completion of the course! So seats are limited so sign up now!
Our new game… Rage: First Person Shouter.
We’ve also been working hard on this game over the past few months, and are very happy with how it’s shaping out to be – and the general buzz around the game concept. We’ve taken the concept of a rage-room simulator, and are giving you beautifully and curated, fully destructible worlds – that you can destroy by shouting at your screen. While it may seem like we’re approaching this as a fun, simple rage-room simulator, we’re actively researching how this game may help in reducing player-stress – through play-to-play and play-to-win formats, you can truly use Rage as a tool to decompress, and that’s the impact we’re hoping to bring in October this year. Keep an eye out for our demo-reels, research share-outs and calls for play-testing!
